what i want this site to become / what i don't want it to become

february 27, 2026

i created this website sort of on a whim after learning about the (actually surprisingly active!) small/indie web community.

In my last post, i wrote about how i usually find myself scrolling instead of creating things myself. the goal in creating this website is to flip that habit and fill this website with things i've made. in order to do that, i have to actually create.

what i don't want this website to become is a portfolio.

i'm allowing myself to bounce around, build the pages i'm most interested in at the time, and update when i feel like it. i never want to feel obligated or pressured. i don't want to measure its success with metrics, i don't want to optimize it, and i don't want to feel like i'm "behind."

i do want this website to be a hobby corner, a showcase of the things i've made, and a way to track my works in progress.

i like structure and i like tracking things, so i know it would be easy for me for this to turn into something too rigid. i'm trying not to do that. I’m trying to let unfinished things be unfinished if they need to be.

this website will grow and change over time, but i want it to be natural, not forced, not a stressful rebrand.

mostly, i want it to feel like it's entirely mine. this is my space to think, develop ideas and projects, and document, not perform.
